Expert Care You Can Trust
Your assessment is led by a specialist who understands hypermobility not as an isolated curiosity, but as part of a wider picture that often includes the autonomic nervous system.

Dr Granot is an experienced neurologist and the founder of East Neurology, with a longstanding interest in the autonomic nervous system and the conditions that travel with hypermobility — including POTS and dysautonomia. His focus is accurate, objective assessment and clear communication with you and your GP.
The Overlooked Story
When "just being bendy" hides something more
Many people with hypermobility spend years being told their symptoms are unrelated, minor, or "in their head". Flexible joints are treated as a party trick, while the pain, fatigue, dizziness and gut problems that come with them are managed one by one — and never joined up.
Sound familiar? Hypermobility is often mislabelled as:
Because the symptoms are common and non-specific, the pattern is easy to miss. An objective assessment brings the pieces together.
Recognising Hypermobility
Signs your connective tissue may be involved
Hypermobility means some of your joints move beyond the normal range. For many people that is harmless — but for others it comes with pain, injuries and a cluster of whole-body symptoms that point to generalised joint hypermobility, hEDS or HSD.

How the assessment works
Your Report & Next Steps
From uncertainty to a clear picture
Your assessment gives a clear answer on whether you have generalised joint hypermobility, and whether features consistent with hEDS or HSD are present. The report explains what the findings mean and flags associated conditions — such as POTS or dysautonomia — that may be worth addressing.
What a clear answer makes possible
1. Validation: a recognised explanation for symptoms that may have been dismissed for years.
2. Coordinated care: your GP and other specialists can work from one structured report rather than scattered pieces.
3. Targeted next steps: the right onward referrals and management for hypermobility and any overlapping autonomic conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is hypermobility testing?
It is a specialist assessment that combines validated questionnaires with precise in-person measurements, interpreted against internationally recognised, evidence-based criteria, to determine whether you have generalised joint hypermobility and whether features of hEDS or HSD are present. We send a structured report to your doctor.
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral is needed to book. If your GP has referred you, we will send them the report; if you book yourself, we will send it to the GP or specialist you nominate.
Does hypermobility testing attract a Medicare rebate?
This is a private test and does not attract a Medicare rebate. A fee estimate is provided at the time of booking.
What happens at the appointment?
After you book, we send you a secure online questionnaire by SMS to complete before your visit. At the appointment you have a series of standardised physical measurements and a clinical assessment with an experienced clinician. Everything is explained as we go.
Will my GP receive a report?
Yes. After your assessment we prepare a clear, structured report for your GP or referring clinician summarising the findings and their significance, including any links to conditions such as POTS or dysautonomia.
